Nonsense, he’s my best friend, and he’s with Rachel. Besides, I wouldn’t go there! No offense, B.

Blaine sighed as Quinn clapped her hands together, happy that he’d finally agreed to perform that damn song with Jesse. He made a mental note to get some sort of payback, cause he was pretty sure he’d never live this down, whether they were wasted or not. He was positive that at least one of them would remember and would hold it against him for the rest of his life. “Whatever Q, don’t put yourself down now, I heard you singing earlier, you were getting pretty into it from where I was sitting,” he laughed, knocking his shoulder against hers again, clicking his knuckles a little as his muscles started to tense up in the cold.

“So we’re not BFF’s yet, so what? I hardly know the guy!” Blaine defended, determined to prove to Quinn that he wasn’t against Jesse like she seemed to think he was. “But he seems nice enough, and you like him, so what’s not to like? Just give Rachel some time, okay?” He glanced behind them again, before glancing back at New York skyline, he knew that Rachel had told him that she’d be fine, and she was just collecting her jacket, but he was starting to get cold now as well, and he was sure that Quinn was starting to feel the same way. “Yeah come on, it’s freezing out here,” he told her, placing his hand on her back as he followed her back down to his apartment.

The door had been left open which was pretty strange in itself, as he stepped inside glancing through to the lounge and frowning when Rachel or Jesse were nowhere to be found. “Rach? Jesse?” he called, glancing at Quinn and shrugging his shoulders a little, walking through to the kitchen and opening up another bottle of wine, pouring himself a glass and topping up Quinn’s glass once more, “If I’m going to sing that damn song, then I’m going to need as much of this as I can get!” he laughed, raising his glass a little and taking a sip.

Jesse swallowed a lump as Rachel pushed him away – somehow suddenly just remembering that they shouldn’t have been that close and she was practically pleading with him to leave which… How everything had started out as being like a moment frozen in time, it had suddenly sped up to the point where Jesse wasn’t at all sure he could follow what was happening anymore. But he heard Blaine call for the both of them and he nodded, just about to walk out of her bedroom, before he turned to look at her one last time; what exactly was it that she couldn’t do?

But she had turned her back on him and for once in his life, he didn’t just blurt out whatever was on his mind – instead he kept quiet and stepped back, out of the room and into the kitchen to join up with Quinn and Blaine. Whatever had just happened in that bedroom wasn’t something they needed to know about, hell, it wasn’t something he really wanted to even think about right now, so he pushed it into the back of his mind, deciding that he would spend the rest of the night just having fun with these people he could actually consider friends.

He wrapped his arms around Quinn’s waist and pressed a kiss to her cheek as he cheekily stole the glass of wine that she was holding, quick to empty it before eyeing Blaine up and down, “So, ready to sing Barbie Girl with me? I’m sure you’ll make a wonderful Barbie, truly!” He smirked, glancing over at Rachel as she entered the room – sending a small smile her way; hoping that she wouldn’t make a big deal out of whatever that had been just moment before. He could always ask her about what exactly it was that she couldn’t do at a later date, and a more convenient place.

It took Rachel a few minutes to compose herself after Jesse had left her room. She still wasn’t entirely sure what was happening, but what she did know was for that one moment, Jesse had been all she could think about, the way his hand had cupped her cheek, the way her body had immediately responded to his touch, relaxing instantly. The way her heart had started beating a little faster than normal, the way in that one moment she had just wanted him. It honestly scared her, because she knew she shouldn’t be thinking like this, about him or anyone that wasn’t Blaine, and she already hated herself for it. She paced across her room, shaking her head trying to rid herself of the thoughts that were consuming her.

She could hear them all talking in the kitchen, and she knew that if she didn’t make an appearance soon then it would look even more suspicious. She walked up to her dresser, staring at her reflection in the mirror and sighing quietly, because the amount of torment and guilt in her features seemed to spilling out, and all she could do was hope and pray that no one would notice or dare to challenge her, because she honestly didn’t know how she’d be able to answer them. She quickly ran her fingers through her hair, forcing a smile onto her face as she walked back into the kitchen, gulping as Jesse smiled at her, and she was immediately drawn to Blaine’s side, hooking her arm around his waist and taking a sip out of his glass.

“You actually agreed to singing that,” she smirked, taking another sip, “I thought you were stronger than that,” she teased, resting her head on Blaine’s shoulder and sighing softly, struggling to even look in Jesse’s direction, let alone meet his eye. “Come on then, this is something I’ve got to see!”

Giggling a little, Quinn was excited to be able to see Blaine and Jesse perform such a ridiculous song together, but it was going to be fun to watch for sure. She made a mental note to pull out her video camera, because you never knew when this kind of performance could come in handy…blackmail wise. “It really wasn’t that great, not when I’m comparing it to yours and the other two.” She shrugged, knowing that she’d never be as good them. Not that it bothered her that much, because she didn’t want to sing forever…just as a laugh with her friends. Nodding as she and Blaine headed back inside, she used her hands to warm up her arms as she made her way back inside.

“Hey, what happened to you guys?” She asked as Jesse reappeared, her smile widening as she felt his arm around her waist, laughing as he took her wine glass. “Sure, help yourself to my wine if you like!” She said, shaking her head. “See, I told you! Blaine you’ll be a great Barbie, and I have my camera phone all ready while you’re going to be performing.”

Letting Blaine and Jesse move to go to the karaoke, the blonde walked over towards Rachel, collecting the bottle of wine to top up her now empty glass, and nudged the brunette with her hip. “You okay, Rach? You got off the roof pretty fast…stress of hosting the greatest NYE party in the city getting to you?” She joked, topping up Rachel’s wine glass, and preparing herself for the performance of the evening.

Walk With Me || St. Fabray

Jesse’s jaw dropped ever so slightly and he turned his head to look at Quinn, his eyebrows furrowing together, “Wait. I think it would be safe to assume that we’re not exactly the best of friends, but… Do you think he would go as far as to mutilate me? Because in that case I really may well just lock myself in my apartment, I’m much too pretty to be violated.” He shivered slightly, although her comment made him scoff, “Please, what’s the point of overcoming an injury if I can just prevent it by being my magnificent self and avoiding incredibly dangerous situations?” He rolled his eyes at her, “Although sure, it’s admirable, but I’m brilliant enough as it is now, why should I become a cripple before I start my budding career?” And the thing was – Jesse had now sort of gotten the idea that not everyone liked it whenever he was being blunt as he were (not that it stopped him, really) but Quinn usually just seemed to laugh at him and not take his comments incredibly serious – which in all honesty, was quite wonderful.

He quirked an eyebrow at the blonde next, letting out a small laugh, “You’re going to buy me popcorn? Oh Quinn Fabray, breaking the social norms every day. Last I checked I still am the man here, next you’re going to tell me you weird womenfolk want to start having jobs and being allowed to vote as well.” He winked at her, biting his cheek to keep from laughing out loud.

Jesse wrapped his arm around Quinn’s waist, pulling her a little closer as he let out a small breath, leading them towards the cinema now and out of the beautiful park, “So I wasn’t exactly sure what movie we should go see, my first thought had been to take you to the theatre actually, but as there still isn’t a ‘Ben and Jerry’s –The Musical’, I thought a movie would be more appropriate, although you get to choose which one we’re going to see – but I veto anything with too much blood.”

Quinn had to bite down on her lip as she listened to Jesse start to think things over about Sam, purely to stop herself from laughing so much. She knew that Sam wouldn’t touch Jesse, but it was always fun watching him squirm as she managed to convince him that he might do. As a choked laugh passed through her lips, she let it all out. “I’m not being serious, Jesse! Sure, he can get mad, but he wouldn’t ‘mutilate’ you for no reason. You’re safe.” She giggled, nudging him in the ribs a little as they walked. She couldn’t help teasing him when it was so easy to make sure that he was believing what she was saying to him. “Yeah yeah, I’m just saying. If you can’t get that kick-start that you need to get on Broadway, I can always beat your legs with a baseball bat.” She nodded, her eyebrows raised and a small glint in her eye. She was teasing of course.

The blonde let out a scoff as he talked about the ‘social norm’ and chuckled to herself a little. “Oh I’m so sorry, I thought it was perfectly okay for me to be flashing the cash and paying for popcorn, however if you do insist, you can pay for the popcorn. But be warned, I will be ordering the largest size that they have.” She nodded, smirk present on her face.

A small gasp passed through her lips as she thought about the possibility of such a musical, something that she’d definitely have to go and see should such a musical be created. “A movie is perfect…but the second that musical comes out, tickets are on you.” She winked, before turning to look up at the films that were available to watch. “How about the Sandra Bullock movie? That’s bound to be good, you know Sandy-B always brings it.” She laughed, she’d wanted to go and see this movie for a while, but she wanted Jesse to be happy with the movie too, there was nothing worse than sitting through an awful movie.
